i’ve been struggling with acne for nearly a decade and i’ve been to a dermatologist before, but can’t as of right now. it started with puberty (around 10) and i’m almost 20. with the dermatologist, i was told to use the panoxyl 10% foaming wash and prescribed topical tretinoin and a temporary pill (don’t remember the name). i used the tretinoin irregularly, but i was consistent with the pill and face wash and noticed a difference, but by the time it was helping, i stopped going to the derm and my prescription ran out. then i was put on birth control, for a different reason but i was told it would help with the acne, and there was really no difference, and i stopped using bc about a year ago. PRODUCTS the only consistent product in my routine has been the panoxyl wash. i used to use a cerave moisturizer, but when that ran out i switched to one that also included sunscreen in it. i also started using an exfoliating wash about a month or two ago because i noticed my face was very flaky and dry, so i thought it would help the dead skin come off easier. about a month prior is when i started using the adapalene gel. i’m just wondering what else i can use to help. MOST AFFECTED my biggest problem areas are around my mouth and chin, and my temples, near my eyebrows. ROUTINE Morning, right after waking up: aloe vera & moisturizer + sunscreen - My face is normally dry when I wake up, so I at least put on the moisturizer + sunscreen product
Night, in shower: exfoliating scrub wash panoxyl 10% face wash - My face, especially around my mouth and nose, are very dry after this Night, out of shower: adapalene gel (weekdays only), aloe vera, & moisturizer + sunscreen - If my face is very dry, the adapalene and aloe vera will make it very red and burn after application, but the moisturizer + sunscreen product does help with that any tips/product recs are appreciated! the pics above are post-shower, pre-out of shower routine. thank you! :) [link] [comments] |
