I’m F 24 and since mid january I started developing these nodules on my face. I have oily skin but no acne really, just some blackheads around the nose area. I went to my GP doctor and she suspects these are cysts and prescribed minocycline for 3 months (I know I need to go to derm but it’s really expensive in my country and I wanted to try and get some antibiotics first to see if these would go down a bit). She told me that if we saw no improvement she would refer me to a dermatologist. The first picture is before I started the treatment and the second one is after two weeks. I know it’s been a short time but I see no diference and I feel like the some days the largest cyst is even more red and inflammed than before and it’s painful the next day if I sleep on that side of my face. This is really affecting me but I’m also scared that a dermatologist will just tell me that they need to cut my face in those 4 places and that would leave visible scarring. Is there a more conservative treatment? I’ve read about cortisone shots but idk if those would apply to my case. When I was 14 I had a similar cyst to that larger one on the other side of my face and the derm didn’t want to cut my face so they took all the liquid they could out with a syringe and then I took antibiotics and luckily it never grew back despite not getting the sack out (I still feel it under my skin if I touch it but it’s not visible at all).
