I’m 24F and have struggled with acne for years, face, chest, back. nothing has ever worked long-term. I’ve tried tons of products, routines, and even cut out dairy for a while. I also struggle with skin picking, which I know doesn’t help.
But here’s the weird part: I moved away from home for a few months during college and lived with friends. During that time, I noticed my skin started to clear up — not 100% perfect, but way better than usual. Then just recently, I went on a 3-day camping trip with zero skincare products, no mirrors, no stress — and my skin actually looked better after the trip than it did before I left. Now I’m back home and my acne is flaring up again. I’m trying to figure out what changed. The only things I can think of: Less stress while away? No dairy (but I had cut dairy before with no major change) Maybe better sleep or cleaner air while camping? No mirrors, so no picking Less exposure to certain products or detergents at home?
Has anyone else experienced something like this? I’d love to hear your thoughts or theories. I’m so frustrated with the cycle and just want to understand what’s going on.
